Can I take unused foreign cash out of Russia?
You must declare foreign cash when exporting amounts exceeding the USD 10,000 equivalent; larger sums may require paperwork—check current customs rules and exceptions in advance.
Export rules for foreign cash also require declaration once the amount exceeds the equivalent of USD 10,000. Do not confuse import and export limits: amounts above that threshold may need paperwork or approval and could be subject to additional controls. Check the latest guidance and any route‑specific exceptions from the Federal Customs Service (FTS) before travel and retain documentation for the funds you plan to take out.
