Check your policy and assistance terms to learn whether the insurer arranges direct billing (guarantee of payment) or you must pay and claim reimbursement. Even when direct billing is offered, not every clinic accepts it, and the assistance provider may need to authorise payment in advance. In life‑threatening emergencies get care immediately and notify assistance as soon as feasible; always retain itemised bills, receipts and medical reports and confirm billing procedures with assistance before elective treatment or travel.
