Embassies can provide lists of local doctors and offer crisis advice, but they rarely provide funds or assume responsibility for medical costs. Confirm your country’s consular services and emergency contacts before travel, buy appropriate travel medical insurance with evacuation cover, and in emergencies contact local emergency services and your assistance provider immediately.
